Captain Cook Snorkeling Tours

What to pack for a snorkel day in Kona

Short version: less than you think. Here's the whole list.

Snorkelers in deep blue water above reef fish

We supply mask, snorkel, fins, flotation and snacks. You bring the rest, and there isn't much of it.

The list

Swimsuit (wear it to the harbor). A towel. Sunglasses and a hat for the ride. A long-sleeved sun shirt or rash guard: it beats sunscreen for keeping you from burning in the water. Reef-safe, non-aerosol sunscreen for whatever the shirt doesn't cover. An underwater camera if you have one.

Leave behind

Luggage and valuables. The gear locker on board holds shoes and keys only. If you're prone to seasickness, take your remedy before we leave the harbor: our shop stocks a few.
